An 18thc. Sèvres lotus-moulded dish, compotier rond, flower sprays, c1762-70Description. A fine Svres soft paste serving dish (compotier rond gauffr), painted with scattered flower sprays within a blue & gilt rim. Lotus moulded body with central stamens. Svres continued producing soft paste alongside their production of hard paste (they were, perhaps, unique in doing so in all of Europe) until 1802. Painter's marks 'E' for Claude Couturier and "P" for Dominique Joffroy Blue interlaced Ls. Condition. In excellent antique

It is true to say that most Christian painted decoration was well executed

Minor chipping to the spout and rim

It is thought that there are no more than 3-4 examples of the pattern in existence
